RACHEL NABORS NEEDS TEAM COMICS!
Rachel Nabors needs some serious dosh for dental surgery. She’s got no insurance (oh, don’t we know how much fun that is), and she must have the surgery. Rachel is a hardworking young manga-ka who’s created hundreds of pages of manga, and self-published her work. Rachel also educates and supports other cartoonists through her site, MangaPunk and is a member of the women cartoonists collective Women’s Work.

Suggesting ANYTHING. Rachel has exhausted avenues for dental school (she doesn’t have one that does surgery), loans (come ON, why is that the default suggestion?), Hero Initiative, a move to another country (how unbelievably loutish), etc.Bottom line, Rachel deserves the help. She works hard, she’s worked to make the business better, she’s trustworthy.

Hot Topix again the home for stolen art.
Posted by admin on February 21st, 2008Jess Fink who has done a number of comics and T-Shirt designs has found that Hot Topix is selling one of her designs.. well almost.
A Hot Topix rep had little to say.
“It is my poiicy to encourage freelancers to use the free Getty photo images as reference points & we also use sketches from the Japanese free clip art books, which have inanimate objects with cute faces & legs etc. which are also very similar to the soap.”
Remember Todd Goldman.

My first writing credit for Marvel Comics was solicited today so I can publically talk about it! SPIDER-MAN FAMILY 8 features a story by yours truly called “WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE” featuring Iceman! Art by Zach Howard.

Ramón Pérez of butternut squash fame has a new comic project called Kukuburi and it’s BEAUTIFUL! Kukuburi is a story about a girl (Nadia) and her lizard (Mr. Bojangles) as the find themselves suddenly in a wild and beautiful world filled with flying whales and dragons and beings of all imagination. Honestly folks it screams PLEASE LET ME TAKE YOU HOME!

Take a look at Comic Book Resources write up on what Zuda is leaving the gate with. I wouldn’t call these guys powerhouses in the industry but they all have talent. Sharpen your pencils guys Zuda wants to raise the bar.
here’s a reference list of some of the talent Zuda is going to showcase.
That should give you an idea where Zuda is going with it’s talent search. Bring the A games guys, I know you got what it takes.
