  • Luz: Girl of the Knowing by Claudia Davila joins Transmission-X. 
  • ComicSpace and Web Comics Nation to merge in a new venture. ComicSpace, Web Comics Nation, OnlineComics, Talk About Comics and Graphic Novel Review will merge into one fully-integrated site, combining all of the best features from each site. Your interested in just what Zuda Comics is going to offer and you wonder if you have what it takes to be a member. Take a look at Comic Book Resources write up on what Zuda is leaving the gate with. I wouldn’t call these guys powerhouses in the industry but they all have talent. Sharpen your pencils guys Zuda wants to raise the bar.

here’s a reference list of some of the talent Zuda is going to showcase.

That should give you an idea where Zuda is going with it’s talent search. Bring the A games guys, I know you got what it takes.

  • Clickwheel comics has a new player to go with their new look. 
  • Stripshow 1.5 is released. 
  • Zuda’s first comics announced.  The starting line up so far is Alpha Monkey, This American Strife, Battlefield Babysitter, Black Swan, The Dead Seas, The Enders, High Moon, Leprenomicon and Raining Cats and Dogs.  Also, Jeremy Love’s comic BAYOU is the first Zuda instant winner and has already been awarded a one year contract.

  • Zuda Comics goes live on October 30th. Good luck to them and all the creators who are going to give that a try. Read your contracts kids! There is a party in NYC wherein there will be Zuda staff to do live and in person reviews of submissions. You have to have this invitation and bring this submission form filled out with your comic. Good luck!
  • Gorilla accepts Ignatz Award at SPX.
  • Brian Warmoth interviews Kristopher Straub over at Wizard.
  • The Boston Globe has an article on XKCD.
  • Voting has begun for Webcomic Idol over at Bomb Shelter Comics.
  • Dave Hyatt of Hyattart.com has had to evacuate his house due to the massive wild fires in San Diego.  We hope everything turns out ok for you Dave.
