Webcomic Wire – 3/28/08

Drawn from sources that found it hard to wake up today…

  • Cory from BoingBoing.net and Randal Munroe, creator of XKCD will be at 3PiCon in Springfield, MA, Aug. 22-24.
  • Fleen has the scoop on a panel at NYCC called Webcomics: Menace or Threat? I say, Threat.
  • Platinum Studios named as a finalist for 2007 Foreward Magazine’s book of the year award.
  • Comic of the Month announced that they’re changing focus from a voting list to a banner exchange program of some sort because “I realized there were just too many of those comic voting sites out there.” Isn’t this the sort of thing you do on a white board before you launch?
  • Webcomic Overlook will be taking a two week hiatus.
  • The Daily Cartoonist has an article about the debate with Ted Rall and Rich Stevens, among others, who debated the impact of webcomics on cartooning.
  • Finally got my copy of How To Make Webcomics and I must say it’s a good read.
  • Go and check out Comic-1, a new list and review blog. Good luck!
  • Templar, Arizona has joined Keenspot, as well as three of Bobby Crosby’s comics.
  • BitStrips has a bitter contract claiming partial ownership with anything created using its program. When will people learn?
  • Check out the sweet new header image over at The Scienteers!
  • Boom! Studios is looking for a Comic Book Editor.
  • Tiny_Monster, Jessica McLeod talks about money and webcomics on her LJ.
