While your waiting

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2006

While you wait for the most recent show I want to share with you one of my favorite comics.

Malfunction Junction

Malfunction Junction

I love Matt Milby’s sence of humor. In fact I think everyone could learn an important life lesson from Malfunction Junction. If a stranger knocks on your door they are fair game for all forms of non violent torture.

Gigcast Drive-by?

Posted by jtpokie on August 28th, 2006

Looking for your Gigcast Drive-by?

We are revamping the Gigcast show format, and The Gigcast Drive-by is going to be incorperated into the Gicast propper.

The Drive-by will still be an open forum for webcomic people to rant, comment, or review what is going on in the world of webcomics, But it will now be included In the Gigcast.

Thanks,

The Mgmnt.

Digital Strips one ups the Gigcast

Posted by admin on August 22nd, 2006

DAMNIT!

I knew we needed to bring a video camera to Megacon. Just Kidding (OK maybe next year). I should have linked this much earlier but you need to check out the Digital Strips Video interview with Jennie Breeden of Devils Panties fame.

http://www.digitalstrips.com/2006/08/interview-with-jennie-breeden.html

I watched hypnotically through both part one and part two. They cover (as usual) a ton of good ground talking about the how-to’s’s of surviving as webcomic artist. When your done watching it you can hop over to Jennies forums and tell her how much that camera loves her. Seriously it was a good interview.

The Gigcast, Year One!: The Gigcast #51

Posted by jtpokie on August 17th, 2006

The Gigcast, Year One Podcast!

Webcomic community news and Skype/voicemail spectacular!
A “Minute in Chucks Brain” Flashback episode
and Mal’s Song from Escape Key!

First, Puppets!

Then,

I just want to say, thanks, thanks to every one who has played a part, in what can only be called, a success. I’m talking about The Gigcast making it to one year, without missing a week.

No one is more surprised at this as I am. Believe you me, if there is a reason for me not to do something, I’ll find it. I’m good like that, just ask my wife. So the fact that we’ve hit one year, must mean that this little project means …something.

Well, it wouldn’t have happened without Scott, Karl, Jo, Corey, Dave, Jenny, Robin, Paul, and Chuck, dozens of outstanding guests, from artists, writers, programmers, puppeteers and inkers, pros and hobbyists alike. And the music. All the great podsafe music from Jonathan Coulton, Brobdingnagian Bards, Escape Key and others.

And Webcomic communities like Drunk Duck, Comic Genesis, Smack Jeeves, Blank label Comics, KeenSpot, Panel 2 Panel, Day Free Press, Comic Dish and countless independent comics as well.

And of course, you, the listeners. Thanks guys.

You make it possible.
