Hi Guys,
I just heard the Gigcast for the first time.  I’ve been doing my webcomic since 05, and I’ve heard of your podcast a number of times, but this was the first time I’ve listened.  I bookmarked it and I’ll be back.

I checked out that “Union of Heroes”.  Its not that far along yet, but I like it.  I look forward to seeing how far they can take that super hero concept.  WIll it mostly be regular 2o somethings talking, or will it be full out “xmen” style action?  This is a style that is surprisingly rare and they seem to be off to a pretty good start…

If you are looking for more material to review, you could check out my comic: www.cy-boar.com
That’s what I’m busy coloring now while I listen…

Hello wonderfull gigcast-crew,

we are two guys from Germany and we create the Union of Heroes – an online published professionally made photocomic about superheroes – with real actors and not action figures (which makes us quite unique - apart from the point that there are nearly no other non-parody superhero-comics from Germany at all.)

As you can imagine, working on a project like this one – with the final aim to make a living out of it – is not easy…

And because of this we would be very happy, if you could support us by reviewing “Union of Heroes” (http://www.unionofheroes.com) in one of the next gigcasts?

On Saturday, September 20th there will be a festival honoring cartoons and animation in Marceline, MO, which is the boyhood home of Walt Disney. Special guests this year are Tom Richmond(MAD Magazine), Jan Eliot(Stone Soup), Dave Coverly(Speed Bump), and Greg Evans(LUANN). There will be a parade at 10am with the cartoonists leading, then from 12:30-5:00 the cartoonists will be talking about their work and cartooning in general. Tom Richmond will be the emcee. He’s spoken there before, and I gotta say he’s a pretty cool guy. These talks are always very interesting, especially for cartoonists. There will be a question/answer session afterward.
There will also be original artwork from SEVERAL artists(including me) on display at the Masonic Temple across from the park. That will be from 11:00am-5:30pm on BOTH Friday and Saturday, Friday being the best day due to scheduling.
People can find more info and directions at Toonfest.net.
