Drawn from sources all over the world wide web…

  • Ian Jay, creator of Try Everything Once, has started IanJay.net to post the rest of TEO as well as other webcomic projects. He will also be making a series of informative videos about webcomics that will be posted on the Scienteers website soon.
  • Wes Molebash interviewed about YHT and Zuda Comics.
  • ROK Comics has posted some short interviews with some comic creators, including David Fletcher and Rich Diesslin.
  • 17 tips for getting bloggers to write about you.
  • Joey Manley has a brief update about his ComicSpace merger activities as of late.
  • Writer David Gallaher and Illustrator Steve Ellis get interviewed about their horror-western High Moon for the Star Bulletin.
  • A new monthly comic contest called Comic of the Month. If you win you get free advertising on the site for a month. It’s a bit of a chore to set up a poll and get voting set up, but what the hey, free is free.

Webcomic Wire - 3/14/08

Drawn from sources that are glad it’s Friday…

  • An interview with Jaime Hernandez.
  • The Knave interviews Zuda Editor Kwanza Johnson.
  • ROK Comics has plans for revamping their site, don’t be afraid to email them and suggest something completely new and exciting.
  • Platinum Studios is starting up the Comic Book Challenge for 2008. Hopefuls can begin submitting their work from May 1st to May 31st.  Good luck contestants!
  • How to make a webcomic YouTube video. Creator of Octopus Pie shows us how comic 121 was made.
  • How To Make Webcomics has finally shipped. I ordered it from Amazon on Dec. 22nd.  Frankly I think they promoted a bit too early, it was less than great to have something arrive this late.
  • The Daily Cartoonist has a post about the challenges of creating an online comic with a viable business model.
  • Dawn Douglass is asking for help with that big question as well.
  • Dave Stevens passed away.
  • Broken Frontier reviews Crowfeathers.
