Hot Topix again the home for stolen art.

Posted by Scott on February 21st, 2008

Jess Fink who has done a number of comics and T-Shirt designs has found that Hot Topix is selling one of her designs.. well almost.

A Hot Topix rep had little to say.

“It is my poiicy to encourage freelancers to use the free Getty photo images as reference points & we also use sketches from the Japanese free clip art books, which have inanimate objects with cute faces & legs etc. which are also very similar to the soap.”

Remember Todd Goldman.

Drawn from sources recovering from the weekend…

  • Nicholas Gurewitch has announced that his strip is going on hiatus.
  • Prof. Patrick Winston on how to speak.  Now you have no excuse not to wow them at the next panel.
  • More on how to create comics.
  • Dilbert comments on the case of an employee being fired for posting a Dilbert strip through, you guessed it, his comic strip.  Frankly I’d rather be unemployed than a drunken lemur anyday.
  • Here’s a review of Freak Angels by Firefox News.
  • T Campbell posts the Feb. 2008 survey of webcomics.
  • Ed Ryzowski, creator of Geek Tragedy, has started coloring Brad Guigar’s Evil Inc.
  • Theater Hopper announces a partnership with Firstshowing.net.
  • Xaviar Xerexes interviews Cat Garza.

Drawn from sources all over the kingdom of webcomics…

  • Brad Guigar celebrates 8 years of doing a daily comic strip! Quite an accomplishment! Congratulations Brad J
  • I can’t remember if I’ve posted about this or not; however, Dave Roman has some great advice for aspiring freelancers out there.
  • For those of you who are into freeware, Photoscape looks to be a promising alternative to PhotoShop.  I’d love to hear if anyone has used it and has an opinion about it.
  • Lots of reactions, including this one, to this week’s XKCD.
