  • Hollywood insider webcomic: Don’t Forget to Validate Your Parking makes it on Boing Boing.
  • Here’s a neat comic The Superest, each of the artists involved draws a character which has powers and vanquishes the previous character. An interesting idea for collaboration. Here is the first one.

Webcomic Wire - 1/16/08

Posted by DarthMike on January 16th, 2008

Drawn from sources that are busy as hell…

  • Platinum Studios, Inc. goes public in a registration statement that was declared effective by the SEC, released on the 10th of January.  I always think that going public is a mistake but that’s my own personal bias lurking there. Congratulations on your filing Platinum!
  • WOW Insider has a post about webcomics returning to play WOW.
  • iFanboy has a post about discovering more about webcomics in 2008 being his new years resolution.
  • Webcomic Overlook reviews Gunnerkrigg Court.
  • Scott Kurtz ruminates on Gary Tyrrell’s new idea about getting 10 bucks per viewer.
  • Another list, although this time a pretty comprehensive one, of resources and tools to aid you in starting a webcomic.
  • Studio Foglio is sponsoring a Webcomic Costume award for the 2008 Comic-Con Masquerade. The winner gets $250.00 and a big bag-o-swag.
  • An interview with Ryan Estrada on ComixTalk.
  • Michael Payne has an interesting post about searching for vanished webcomics.
  • The McGill Tribune has a story about the rise of webcomics and the ramifications for print media.
  • Sequential Tart has the second part of their story The Third Age of Webcomics.
  • Heidi MacDonald ponders the possible implications that a prolonged writers strike might have on Comic-Con.
