Panel 2 Panel has News!

Posted by admin on March 2nd, 2007

Because I had to be reminded (translates to I’m kinda a dummy head) I forgot to include this news update in the latest Gigcast. Sorry Glych
Here’s a list of new things coming to Panel2Panel to cover on the Gigcast:

A FAQ page has been added to the site
(http://www.panel2panel.com/faq.html) where you’ll find a HUGE list of common questions we get and their answers. Questions like “Whatever happened to the original No Stereotypes?” and “Would you be willing to
collaborate on something?” There’s also a question we often get; “How do I get into the comics industry?” which is followed by a very long and thorough list of books that is an excellent jumping off point for
anyone who’s serious about making comics for a living. We feel this list is an important resource for anyone starting out.

2 new columns have joined the site. There was a vote on the forums to pick the new columnist from 2 worthy candidates, Adam Barnett and Jason Brown. Not only was the vote “so” close but their material
covered so different from each other that Glych made the executive decision to have both join. Adam Barnett, blogger for Comics Make No Sense (http://comicsmakenosense.blogspot.com/) will be covering older comics and graphic novels from the main stream with his column “The Procrastinator,” while Jason Brown will be covering independent and small press comics and graphic novels with his column “Shoegazing.” Jason’s been published in many gaming magazines in the UK which, with his addition, officially makes P2P, not only international, but
intercontinental.

I am officially a horrid news reported. Good think Tim doesn’t pay me.

Marvel Comics Online ?

Wingtail girls updates.

Wes Molebas could use your support!

So here’s the plan in a nutshell:

- Publish a 32-page one-shot comic book this summer
- Fill that book with the best YHT comics from 2006 to present
- Promote the hell out of it!

The ultimate goal is to raise more awareness of my little comic strip, and encourage people to buy the collections. If the one-shot sells well, it may even lead to a bi-monthly YHT comic book. I’m not sure what the likelihood of that would be, but I’ve been told it’s a possibility.

But the book has to sell . . .

Just dropping a quick like to say congratulations to Karen on your one year anniversary. Your comic and your style has grown into one of my favorite “slice of life stories”. Here is hoping to see you still updating next year.

A Link while you wait – mosetoon.com

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2007

The gigcast should be up later tonight or tomorrow but while you wait I wanted to share with you a true GEM of a comic site. I’m even a little cautious calling it a comic site because it’s really good art. Not in the hey the art is good on this comic, I mean that it’s ART!

I know nothing about Adam Cohen other then he does the website www.mosetoon.com. I will have to do some searching to find out more. I hope he’s not also famous for stomping on small animals or feeding babies glass. That would just spoil it for me. Maybe.

I came across it on my daily blog crawl. So I need to give credit to Drawn.ca and to Diva Lea for reminding me about Drawn.ca.
