So you want to be a member of Zuda

Posted by Scott on October 30th, 2007

Your interested in just what Zuda Comics is going to offer and you wonder if you have what it takes to be a member. Take a look at Comic Book Resources write up on what Zuda is leaving the gate with. I wouldn’t call these guys powerhouses in the industry but they all have talent. Sharpen your pencils guys Zuda wants to raise the bar.

here’s a reference list of some of the talent Zuda is going to showcase.

That should give you an idea where Zuda is going with it’s talent search. Bring the A games guys, I know you got what it takes.

THE LEAGUE OF ARCH VILLAINS

Posted by Scott on August 30th, 2007

I’ve joined THE LEAGUE OF ARCH VILLAINS and you can to. The L.A.V. is looking for viscious vixens and muscle-bond man-mutants to join our ranks and control the world…nay, the UNIVERSE! If you fit those catagories or if you have a secret formula that can make an army of zombies. You may just have what it takes to be a member of The League of Arch Villans!

Posted by Scott on July 9th, 2007

So I have been a proud fan of Planet Karen for maybe a year now. It’s just a Kick Ass Slice of Karen’s life really. Todays comic just made me want to say “KICK HIS SCUM ASS!” I love the look on the last panel like. “Stop Screwing With Me landlord or I will plant a boot in your ass very soon.

Getting off my ass

Posted by Scott on July 3rd, 2007

I haven’t written a “Bad Fan” in a while (once again proving that I am indeed a bad fan). I tend to do this. I work in waves. If I could find a job that I could work for 6 months take 6 months off and still keep my family feed I would. It’s just how I function. So here is what I am going to do.  I am going to just get up off my ass and show you what I’ve been reading. It’s not a real intelligent list but at least it’s getting me started.

Devils Panties is usually my first read of the morning. Not that it’s my favorite but my list is alphabetical  and D is the top of my list. If you haven’t read Devils Panties your blind and I have no pity for you. Devils Panties is a must read slice of life comic and is the inspiration of many comics that have come after it. Including mine.

The Errant Apprentice -  Even if I didn’t talk to Kevin often I would love this comic. Here is the short description “In a world where fantasy and magic are reborn, only one man stands for the ideals of knighthood. He is Terry Lingal, the Errant Apprentice”. The idea behind this is that in the mid 1970’s magic returns to Earth and with it magical creatures and those who would use magic to their own ends. I like the story because it’s about a guy who’s trying to do the right thing because it’s what you should do and not for some greater reward.

Girls With Slingshots - Someone needs to hire Danielle Corsetto and force her to write network TV shows. The pacing is great the whole cast have style and the art rocks. Danielle Corsetto is taking her comic daily now so please check it out. She put tons of work into it.

Malfunction Junction - Another slice of life comic that I think should find it’s way into magazines. I also dig Matt Milby art style. A big part of why I think I like it is in Matt’s statement “I do not write a journal comic because I think anyone particularly cares about my life, but because I am most inspired by everyday stuff that happens to me”.

My lunch break is almost over with so I will pick this list up next time.
