You have likely read about this on someone’s blog or forum. Matt Boyd, writer of MacHall and Three Panel Soul has lost his job due to talking about guns. Then he wrote about it (as writers will do) and now he gets a visit from his local Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

I read about this too. I can maybe understand the reaction to his comic, strangely enough (although I don’t agree with it).
But he shouldn’t have been fired in the first place — it was just his bad luck that he was talking about (legally) owning firearms on the day of the VA Tech shooting, before he even knew about it. Paranoia and fear-mongering are trumping good common sense these days.
