Webcomic News, Song Parody by Nick Nitro and an interview with Dylan Squires.

Direct download of higher Quality mp3 of Kurtz Vs The World
And now for a Letter from the Editor:

There is a reason I should not do the final edit for the show at 1 am. (besides the quizical looks from my, not quite understanding, but supportive wife). I forget things.

Like the way I forgot to include the Panel 2 Panel news we recorded with Amber (aka Glych). I am a Bad Person.

I will upload the P2P news seperatly for download (like the Song Parody above) when I get home today, and will also include it in next weeks show.

I’d blame this again on my production assistants… but, except for in my caffine addled little mind, they do not exist.

Please forgive me Glych.

[…] Gigcast has a new podcast up interviewing the Drunk Duck founder Dylan Squires about the Platinum Studios Drunk Duck deal. Very informative if you’re worried about any of that. Also, they have an awesome parody song called KURTZ vs THE WORLD. That’s a direct Mp3 link there. And hey, I get mentioned in the song too, I feel special. Also a word up to Chris Crosby. But that was a long time ago… but lots of things can rhyme with Crosby or something I bet. […]

The parody, sorry about that, I meant to clarify but got distracted by something shiny.

Happens often.

No worries…

It’s all in fun. Webcomic drama… makes the world go round.

I don’t think it was intended in good fun, I think it was made in poor taste.

Shite like this makes us all look bad.

I would like to say I’m glad someone who didn’t like something was able to give their opinion without it turning into a flame war. It’s always nice to see people be able to give their opinion (even if it isn’t the popular one) and continue on in peace.

Rock, Rock on.

Best episode of the gigcast in a while actually. I was quite pleased.

Oh, sure Spambot. Ruin a rather promising flamewar. 😉

Actually, while I disagree with sohmer’s opinion, I support his right to say it.

While I also respect Sohmer’s right to say it, I think the dude is equally very talented, well spoken (I love LICD) at the same time, I feel that it wasn’t truly meant to be ‘harsh’ as you might say it is.

The only thing harsh, and as a man prolly bigger than Kurtz, the whole Jabba thing was the only thing that I constantly fought myself on, but in the end, it added atmosphere to the song.

But it brings up a solid point, and that is, Scott MAY be right. But he has a funny way of saying it. And you know, I can understand him being not happy with the article in the Times stating Drunk Duck is acting like the first ever site to make webcomics something you can LIVE off of, but, c’mon. Why do you have to come off like you’re attacking the Duck directly or anyone who isn’t you in the process?

So while it was mostly done in good fun, sir, as I love a good parody song in the likes of your local “morning zoo”, at the same time, if I can whip out a little message at you, then christ be it, I feel much better for it. I’m sorry you may not agree with that, but I do truly appreciate the fact you expressed it in a sincere way.

–Cheers,

Nitro
